ESP Tungsten Loaded X-Stiff Hooklink

Since we launched the original Soft & Semi-Stiff versions about four years ago, those little square spools have become a mainstay for thousands of anglers. But more recently we started getting asked for a stiffer version – primarily to make it even more tangle resistant for distance casting and also to create more rigid hooklinks for D rigs and booms for Ronnie’s etc.

So we received the first samples in late 2018 and they were put through their paces through last year. The guys who tested it were all over it! The colours, overall diameter and super soft internal braid are exactly the same as the Soft and Semi-Stiff, the key difference is the feel of the coating which is significantly stiffer. It’s still forgiving on a knot though, with no fracturing or cracking of the coating. It is quite coily off the spool so we’ve found it best to steam it over a kettle, which makes it go poker straight and super stiff!
